Fountainscape Ideas to rejuvenate your pond can come in many sizes, shapes and forms.  For example a simple aquatic planting can bring your pond from nice to wow.  Just by adding some foliage color or a beautiful lotus that will sprout colorful blooms.   In addition to adding plants a complete FountainScape ideas can be added to your existing pond and truly create a focal point beyond imagination.

We began maintaining this pond last year, after it was installed by another company,  and the owner always asked for ideas on how to spruce it up.  Throughout the year I was kicking around ideas, but saw what some other great water feature builders were doing with stacked slate FountainScapes urns.  This was the perfect spot to try it out, and I’m glad we did.

Before Upper Pond from Patio

This area of the pond is being used as a spilling area and a filter.  This pooling area is situated on the main sitting area of the patio, and after speaking with the owner we wanted to liven it up and create a feature that would make this area “pop”.  In addition we would be creating a true up flow wetland filter out of this pooling area by adding biological media and aquatic plants to help filter the pond below.

After a day of construction, and fun construction I may add, we transformed this upper pooling area by adding FountainScapes elements, plants and of course our Feng Shui Frog mascot.  The rejuvenation of this area created a focal point in the backyard landscape and allowed the owners to enjoy their pond in a different way from their main patio area. Fountainscape Ideas are limited only to our imagination.

In addition to the fountains we also incorporated lighting throughout and added aquatic plants to bring color to the newly rejuvenated pond.

Here’s the scenario (one at least): It’s Friday night, you and the family are packing up to go away for the weekend.  You breeze past the pond to say goodbye to your fish friends and throw them a little food until you get home Sunday night.  The weekend weather is beautiful, sunny and HOT! You […]

“When can I start feeding my koi or pond fish again?”  is a question we are asked almost daily this time of year. We understand why, too!   Your pond has either been cleaned or turned on for the spring,  the fish are becoming more and more active almost begging for food, and you can’t […]

Frogs!  All over the country spring is “hopping” and the frogs are singing, sometimes a bit too loud.   It’s no different here in Morris County, NJ, the frogs are getting busy.  We can hear them at night, the ruckus and noise they can create is music to our ears here at A Frog’s Dream as […]
